The Spirit of the Game

These rules are crucial to the game. Participants should not violate the rules as written nor the spirit of these rules, unless otherwise specified.

Overview

We acknowledge and thank the Coast Salish nations of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil Waututh), and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), on whose traditional territory we teach, learn and live.

In transit tag, one team will be randomly assigned to be imposters while the other will be assigned to be crewmates. Crewmates will receive a list of 25 tasks—each worth varying amounts of points—to complete throughout Metro Vancouver and imposters will attempt to prevent crewmates from completing them. Crewmates have 390 minutes to complete their assigned tasks. The crewmates win if they manage to score a point total equal to 90% of the possible achievable points within the allotted time frame. Imposters win if they tag both crewmates within the allotted time frame or if they successfully prevent the crewmates from finishing their tasks.

Rules

  • Teams are comprised of two members who may act independently to complete tasks. When the crewmates receive their tasks, the imposters will not know the contents of the list; however, they may consult the pool of possible tasks to deduce what tasks the crewmates may have received.
  • Imposters will continuously receive the location of the crewmates through GPS, crewmates must keep their trackers on them at all times unless otherwise specified.
  • Participants may ONLY walk and use public transit to move. Public transit is confined to bus, Skytrain, or Seabus services provided by Translink. Uber, biking, driving, etc. are prohibited.
  • If a hider is tagged, they must notify their teammate and return to their corresponding spawn point and may not participate in any activities. Crewmates may only be revived once they are at one of the respawn locations.
    • The spawn point is the corresponding spawn location determined by the region in which the crewmate was tagged.
      • Vancouver and North/West Vancouver: Waterfront Station
      • Burnaby and New West: Metrotown Station
      • Tricities: Coquitlam Central Station
      • Surrey (excluding White Rock): Surrey Central Station
      • Richmond: Richmond Brighouse
      • White Rock: White Rock Centre @ Bay 1
      • Mary Lamb Bypass: Either Richmond or White Rock depending on region
      • Out of Bounds: The spawn point of the region that is geographically closest
  • When a hider is tagged, their teammate may do one of three things to revive them:
    • Complete a task
    • Complete one of the the assigned special tasks
    • Return to the same waypoint location as the tagged teammate (1 hour cooldown per team)
  • If a hider is revived, they may hide their location for 10 minutes. Additionally, they may not be tagged for 15 minutes starting from when they are revived.
  • Every 30 minutes from the time which imposters begin, they must report their precise location to all crewmates in the game.
  • If the crewmates complete enough tasks to win the game, all crewmates must go to an end location before time is up to win. Crewmates do not need to go to the same end location. If at least one crewmate reaches an end location, the crewmates win if all untagged crewmates also reach an end location.
    • The end locations are: Bridgeport Station, King George Station, and Brentwood Town Centre Station.
